Washington Post: Man Dies in Silver Spring Apartment Fire

The Washington Post reports that this morning an employee of the new Lotus Cafe on Georgia Avenue died in a fire, likely started by falling asleep with an unextinguished cigarette. Other employees of Lotus Cafe who also rent apartments in the second floor above the restaurant smelled smoke and reported the fire shortly before 2AM. No damage was done to the restaurant or other apartments.
