Washingtonian's "Best of Silver Spring"
Washingtonian Magazine is out with it's "Best of Silver Spring" list, available only in it's February print addition-- but a Silver Spring neighbor was kind enough to put the list online here.
The nearby businesses that made the list: Crisfield Restaurant, Moorenko's, Jackie's, Vicino, Hanagan's Auto Body, Oriental East, Veridian Apartments and 1200 East-West Highway.

Two favorites that didn't make the Washingtonian's list are Lotus Cafe (great Vietnamese food) and Sabroso (delish marinated rotisserie chicken with plenty of veggie side options). When Sabroso gets more of their so-good-I-can't-believe-it's-not-a-dessert corn on a stick--they had sourcing problems last time I stopped in--I will be back to stopping there every other day. Also, Sabroso has coupons on the back of Giant receipts that are good through 6/30. Can't beat a deal. ;)

Many of the best cafes and resturants might be left out to be enlisted. I think there should be enough research done and then it will be sure that none of them will be missed out. There are many cafes and resturants that are serving great food all it needs is the recognition nationwide so that people who ever goes to that place, those places will be at the topmost list of them.
